 About

History of the Mission

In 1988 a small group of people gathered for a home bible study. They were reading from the Holy Scriptures in the book of St. Matthew 25:35-49. "When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger (homeless), you welcomed me in, and when I was naked; you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me." The members heard this calling and began gathering articles of clothing and food from their own homes and started distributing them to families in need. From these humble beginnings The Lighthouse Mission was born.

About the Lighthouse

Located in the desert lands of Eastern NM, the LIGHTHOUSE MISSION INC. was established in 1988 to minister to the needs of the total man, BODY, SOUL, and SPIRIT.

We are a Christ-centered 501(c) 3 rescue mission and are privately supported by those who share our vision of ending homelessness and hunger. Together, we join hearts and hands to brighten the future of our less-fortunate neighbors.

Lighthouse Mission Inc. is founded on the following biblical principles and is an extension of our love for God and for  our fellow man.Adapted from Matthew 25:35-40:  I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’“Then they will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hurting and in need and helped you?' “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me.’
