MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE WHOLE PERSON

MEETING THE NEEDS OF THE WHOLE PERSON

A LIGHTHOUSE IN THE DESERT

The Lighthouse Mission is a ministry that has been faithfully serving Christ and our community for 36 years. Our mission extends to Clovis, New Mexico and the surrounding communities. We provide essential services such as homeless sheltering, hunger relief, clothing assistance, and support for those struggling with addiction. Our purpose is to offer physical and spiritual aid, along with comfort and encouragement. At the Lighthouse, we are committed to meeting the needs of the whole person, body, soul, and spirit.

Fighting Hunger

Providing well-balanced meals 7 days a week

Nothing can bring down a person's spirit and focus faster than the pain of hunger. A child's education is heavily affected when they go hungry. We become more vulnerable to illnesses when our bodies lack proper nourishment. Our dreams of finding a job and bettering ourselves disappear when all we can think about is finding our next meal. The first step towards human recovery is tackling food insecurity head-on. When we're not constantly burdened by hunger pangs, our minds can think more clearly.

Providing Gently-Used Clothing

Monday-Thursday

The Missions clothing bank is more than just a place for new and used items. It's a lifeline for those who can't afford the essentials. From warm clothing that brings comfort to presentable outfits that make lasting impressions, this place empowers individuals on their journey towards a brighter future. It's not just about right or wrong; it's about the reality of giving families the chance to rebuild their lives. And it doesn't stop there; providing toys and books opens up pathways to a more normalized lifestyle. With dedicated volunteers organizing these treasures, both local communities and even those in faraway lands benefit from the compassion and generosity of the Missions clothing bank.

Providing Emergency Shelter

For men, women, and children 365 days a year

Homelessness is an unexpected and daunting reality that can occur suddenly. During challenging economic periods, the rate of homelessness rises significantly, leading to a record number of people without a place to call home. Even individuals who are employed struggle to meet their basic needs and afford housing. That's where The Lighthouse comes in - providing shelter on a transitional or emergency basis to ensure individuals are protected from the elements and don't have to resort to living in their cars.

Matthew 25:35–39 (TPT)

For when you saw me hungry, you fed me. When you found me thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I had no place to stay, you invited me in, and when I was poorly clothed, you covered me. When I was sick, you tenderly cared for me, and when I was in prison you visited me.’  “Then the godly will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty and give you food and something to drink? When did we see you with no place to stay and invite you in? When did we see you poorly clothed and cover you? 39 When did we see you sick and tenderly care for you, or in prison and visit you?’
